Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Painted Hill Farm has implemented a CSA for 2010! As you may know, CSA stands for community supported agriculture. With this CSA, we invite you to become a member of our farm. It's a great way to directly influence the viability of a sustainable farm, not to mention the peace of mind you'll gain by knowing just how and where your food was raised.
CSA Details
The utmost consideration will go into each share to make sure it is a fair and enjoyable bundle of at least two species of meat, with an average weight of 15# plus a dozen eggs. Other membership benefits will include:
- Guarantee of a Thanksgiving turkey and Easter ham
- 5% off beef, pork, and chicken cuts not included in your share, to be purchased ala carte
Sample share A: 2 halves of quartered chicken, 1 lb ground chicken, 2 lb ground beef, 2 lb beef steak, 2 lb pork chops, 2 pkg ground pork, and a dozen eggs.
Sample share B: 5lb chicken, 5# pork, 5# beef and a dozen eggs.
Summer Share
May though October. Cost $594. That's only $99 payable monthly — not too bad. The summer shares have occasional steaks and grilling cuts.
Winter Share
November though April. Cost $594. A commitment will be required by August 1, 2010. The winter share comes with a turkey and large bone-in ham because the monthly share will be an average of 13+ lbs.
Additional information
- If you are unable to pick up your share at the predesignated time and location, it will be up to you to schedule a delivery.
- If you find yourself unable to continue with your membership for any reason, you may sell it to another person but we will not be able to give refunds.
- Shares will only be semicustomizable. That is, we will do our best to accommodate tastes but we can't guarantee we will have special cuts.
- Deliveries will be once a month, but again as a member, you may purchase ala carte anytime with a 5% discount.
- 15# share is for 2+ people.
- Larger or smaller shares are available upon request.
